Amazon will charge third-party sellers for the first time a holiday logistics surcharge

In response to soaring inflation, Amazon plans to raise logistics fees during the holiday season, passing   
 some of the increased costs to the millions of merchants who rely on its website to sell products,media
reported.

Amazon said in an email to sellers that from Oct. 15 to Jan. 14, third-party sellers using Fulfillment by
Amazon (FBA) will have to pay 35 cents per item sold in the U.S. or Canada. . For merchants using FBA,
Amazon handles the process of picking, packing, and shipping item 

Amazon said the additional holiday surcharge will be implemented for the first time as "spending has

reached new heights" making it harder for the company to absorb costs associated with the peak
shopping
 season.
