The consignee of imported goods shall submit the following documents when filing a claim with the insurance company:

(1) Import invoice;

(2) Bill of lading or arrival notice of import and export goods, waybill;

(3) Record of unloading and yardage list at the final destination.

If the loss involves the responsibility of the consignor, an order contract must be provided. If there is a shipper's letter of guarantee and the ship's remarks, it should also be provided. If the loss involves the responsibility of the ship, the unloading port tally visa must be provided. If there is a ship's remarks, it will also be provided. Where the responsibility of the consignor or the ship is involved, the national commodity inspection department shall carry out identification and certification. If the loss involves port loading and unloading and the responsibility of inland, inland river or railway transporters, the freight records (business records) and joint inspection reports issued by the responsible party must be provided.

The consignee can file a claim for import and export freight insurance with the insurance company in the following ways: for the loss of imported goods by sea, make a claim with the insurance company at the port of discharge; for the loss of imported goods by air, make a claim with the destination insurance company indicated on the international waybill ; For the loss of imported goods by post, make a claim to the destination insurance company indicated on the international parcel list; for the loss of imported goods by land, make a claim to the destination insurance company indicated on the international railway waybill.

2. Judgment responsibility and compensation. After the insured has completed the above-mentioned relevant claim procedures and provided complete documents, the insured can wait for the insurance company to verify the responsibility and pay the indemnity. In my country, there are two ways for insurance companies to pay compensation:

One is to directly pay the consignee;

The second is to pay the relevant foreign trade companies in a centralized manner, and then the foreign trade companies will settle the settlement with each ordering unit.
