fob term

The term "FOB" stands for "free on board" or "freight on board," and it's used to denote the point at which responsibility and ownership of items pass from a seller to a buyer.

fob term refers to who is responsible for products that are lost, stolen, or damaged during shipping—the vendor or the consumer. The designation establishes who is responsible for paying the freight charges and when ownership of the shipment moves from the seller to the buyer when used with a specific physical location.

What is a fob?

For instance, "FOB [name of originating port]" in international shipping refers to the seller (consignor) being in charge of the expense of the products' transit to the port of shipment as well as their loading. The cost of maritime freight, insurance, loading, and transportation from the arrival port to the final destination is covered by the buyer (consignee). When the items are loaded at the port of origin, the seller transfers the risk to the buyer.

Freight on Board:

Another phrase frequently used in place of free on board is freight on board this is same concept with cif term. It's important to note that this phrase is not an official one.
